Scorchers BBL penalised for slow over rate

January 12, 2018

Cricket Australia (CA) advises that Perth Scorchers BBL captain Adam Voges has been suspended for his team’s next match against the Adelaide Strikers at Traegar Park on Saturday, due to a second slow over rate offence in BBL|07.

The Scorchers have been penalised for a slow over rate in their match against Sydney Thunder at Spotless Stadium on 11 January 2018.

They were found to be 5.25 minutes behind the scheduled time to complete their 20 overs, after allowances, equating to one over short.

In accordance with the BBL Playing Conditions, each member of the playing XI was offered a $1,000 fine - which would be reduced to $500 per player if accepted without appeal.

Once Voges has served his one match suspension his two strikes will be nullified and his tally reset to zero.
