March 01, 2018
Cricket Australia (CA) advises that South Australia’s Daniel Drew has been charged for breaching the CA Code of Conduct on 20 February 2018 in his side’s Toyota Futures League match against New South Wales Metro at Adelaide Oval No 2.
Drew was reported for breaching CA Code of Conduct Article 2.1.3 – showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during a match – a Level 1 offence.
The offence occurred during South Australia’s first innings, when Drew was dismissed.
As per the CA Code of Conduct procedure, Match Referee John Biddiss considered the umpires’ report, and proposed a sanction of a reprimand should the player accept the umpire’s version of events.
Drew admitted the offence and accepted the sanction, no hearing was required.
