The Board of Cricket Australia today announced the appointment of incoming Director, Dr Lachlan Henderson, effective immediately.

Dr Henderson’s position will be open for re-election at the Cricket Australia Annual General Meeting on 25 October.

“We are privileged to welcome Lachlan back into the cricket fold, and confident that he will add an exceptional skillset on the Board.

"Lachlan made a considerable impact on WA cricket, not just in his year as Chairman, but throughout his three years on the WACA Board.

“His knowledge of the game, and business acumen will ensure that we continue to realise our vision of being Australia’s favourite sport,” said Mr Peever.

Dr Henderson said: “It’s an incredible honour to be appointed to the Board of Cricket Australia. While the recent challenges have been well publicised, Cricket is in a very strong position in Australia with record participants and new broadcast partners.

"I am excited about the role I can play to better the connection with the sport and its fans and look forward to working with fellow Directors to continue to improve and strengthen the position of the game,” said Dr Henderson.

Dr Henderson is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and his Board appointments include: former Chair WA President’s Medical Liaison Council for MDA National; Board Member Swan Care Group (Aged Care). From 2013 – 2016, he was a Director of the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) and was Chairman from 2015 - 2016.
