Stephen O'Keefe charged with CA Code of Conduct breach

December 05, 2017

Cricket Australia (CA) advises that New South Wales’ Stephen O’Keefe has been charged for breaching the CA Code of Conduct on 27 November 2017 in his side’s JLT Sheffield Shield match against Victoria at North Sydney Oval.

O’Keefe was reported for breaching CA’s Code of Conduct Article 2.1.3 – showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during a match – a Level 1 offence.

The offence occurred during New South Wales’ second innings, when O’Keefe was dismissed.

As per the CA Code of Conduct procedure, Match Referee Robert Parry considered the umpires’ report, and proposed a sanction of a 50 per cent fine of O’Keefe’s match fee.

O’Keefe admitted the offence and accepted the sanction, no hearing was required.
