Renegades BBL penalised for slow over rate

January 29, 2018

The Melbourne Renegades BBL team has been penalised for a slow over rate in their KFC Big Bash League match against Sydney Thunder at Manuka Oval on 24 January 2018.

The Renegades were found to be 8.75 minutes behind the scheduled time to complete their 20 overs, after allowances, equating to two overs short.

In accordance with the BBL Playing Conditions, each member of the playing XI was offered a $2,000 fine - $1,000 per over - which would be reduced to $1,000 per player - $500 per over - if accepted without appeal.

Renegades captain Dwayne Bravo receives one strike, and a second strike for Bravo for slow over rates would see him miss one match.

The Renegades accepted the sanction without appeal.
