Melbourne Stars WBBL and Hobart Hurricanes WBBL penalised for slow over rates

January 11, 2018

The Stars WBBL team was penalised in its Rebel Women's Big Bash League match against Adelaide Strikers at Adelaide Oval on Tuesday 9 January, due to being one over short after allowances.

The Hurricanes WBBL team was also penalised in its WBBL|03 match against Brisbane Heat at Blundstone Arena on Monday 8 January, due to being one over short after allowances.

In accordance with the WBBL Playing Conditions, each member of the respective playing XI will be fined $250, and captains Kristen Beams (Stars) and Corinne Hall (Hurricanes) receive one strike each.

If the teams choose to accept their penalty without appeal, the fine will be reduced to $125 per player.

A second strike for the captain will result in an automatic one match suspension.
