Hurricanes BBL penalised for slow over rate

January 12, 2018

The Hobart Hurricanes BBL squad has been penalised for a slow over rate in their KFC Big Bash League match against Brisbane Heat at The Gabba on 10 January 2018.

The Hurricanes were found to be 5.25 minutes behind the scheduled time to complete their 20 overs, after allowances, equating to one over short.

In accordance with the BBL Playing Conditions, each member of the playing XI was offered a $1,000 fine - which would be reduced to $500 per player if accepted without appeal - while Hurricanes captain George Bailey receives one strike.

A second strike for Bailey for slow over rates would see him miss one match.
