November 07, 2017
Fans around the world will be able to enjoy every ball of the action thanks to a world-class live stream broadcast of the historic Commonwealth Bank Women’s Ashes day-night Test at North Sydney Oval, beginning on Thursday 9 November.
Made possible by Commonwealth Bank and Cricket Australia, for the first-time fans will be able to experience the live stream in full HD, courtesy of a broadcast quality equipment and a highly experienced production team. An all-female commentary team including former Australia stars Mel Jones and Lisa Sthalekar, and former England heroes Charlotte Edwards and Isa Guha, will provide expert insights of the on-field action throughout the game.
“Through our partnership with Cricket Australia, we are focused on creating more opportunities to bring a greater mix of players onto the pitch and into the limelight,” says Monique Macleod, Acting Chief Marketing Officer at Commonwealth Bank.
“This is just one part of our $15 million investment in initiatives that help level the playing field and promote inclusion in cricket,” she said.
The live stream will be available via the Cricket Live platform on phone, tablet, desktop and Apple TV.
The live stream will allow fans to follow every ball of this hard-fought Women’s Ashes content wherever they are, according to Cricket Australia Executive GM, Broadcasting, Digital Media & Commercial, Ben Amarfio.
“The Commonwealth Bank Women’s Ashes has proven itself to be unmissable cricket in the first three matches of the series and we are very pleased to be able to offer fans around Australia and throughout the world an unprecedented live stream experience for the historic day-night Test at North Sydney Oval. A nine-camera production in full HD, with advanced graphics combined with innings break shows, makes this the most advanced production Cricket Australia has ever put together.
“Commonwealth Bank has been a great supporter of women’s cricket since 1999 and their investment in this year’s Women’s Ashes through initiatives such as the enhanced live stream is helping us to promote women’s cricket to more people than ever before. We are very proud to have the support of Commonwealth Bank as we continue to make cricket a sport for all Australians.”
The enhanced live-stream builds upon the significant coverage of the series from Cricket Australia’s broadcast partners, with the Nine Network showing all ODI and T20 matches in the series and ABC Radio providing coverage and commentary throughout the series.
