March 09, 2018
Cricket Australia (CA) advises that ACT/NSW Country’s Jonathan Cook has been charged for breaching the CA Code of Conduct on 6 March 2018 in his side’s Toyota Futures League match against Queensland at Chisholm Oval.
Cook was reported for breaching CA Code of Conduct Article 2.1.3 – showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during a match – a Level 1 offence.
The offence occurred during ACT/NSW Country’s first innings, when Cook was dismissed.
As per the CA Code of Conduct procedure, Match Referee Neil Findlay considered the umpires’ report, and proposed a sanction of a reprimand should the player accept the umpire’s version of events.
Cook admitted the offence and accepted the sanction, no hearing was required.
