January 29, 2018
Cricket Australia (CA) advises that Adelaide Strikers BBL’s Ben Laughlin has been charged for breaching the CA Code of Conduct on 25 January 2018 in his side’s KFC Big Bash League match against Perth Scorchers at The Furnace.
Laughlin was reported for breaching CA Code of Conduct Article 2.1.3 – showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during a match – a Level 1 offence.
The offence occurred during the Strikers’ bowling innings.
As per the CA Code of Conduct procedure, Match Referee David Talalla considered the umpires’ report, and proposed a sanction of a reprimand should the player accept the umpire’s version of events.
Laughlin admitted the offence and accepted the sanction, no hearing was required.
