Diversity and Inclusion

Diversity Council

The Diversity Council’s role is to help everybody in Australian cricket understand the importance of ensuring cricket is a sport for all Australians.

Cricket Australia (CA) established an Australian Cricket Diversity Council in March of this year in a bid to further bolster the sport as the nation's favourite.

Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland chairs the Council made up of CEOs from all States and Territories as well as specialist managers from within CA.

The Council also has CA board representation with Tony Harrison (the former chair of Australian Cricket’s Females in Cricket Advisory Group) and Jacquie Hey named as inaugural members. Sam Almaliki, CA’s Senior Manager for Community Engagement, is an ex-officio member and acts as secretary of the Council.

The Council plays an integral leadership role as Australian Cricket proactively steps up its focus on diversity and inclusion across all levels of the sport.
